Why not just be secular? Why not at least be skeptical about all the lunatic, supernatural stuff in the Bible? I'm talking about Adam & Eve; the Jonah story, anything having do with "angels"; chatty corpses who go around high-fiving people, etc. If you're drawn to the poetic side of the Bible, fine. Have at it. After all, it's the poetry that attracts Dawkins, who, as you probably know, is an atheist.
Forget about Christianity and Judaism and Islam and Hinduism, and all the thousands of other religions in the world. Ignore them all and be secular. That's my recommendation. Also, faith bores me. It's about aligning yourself with stuff that you believe in when evidence is lacking. I fail to see the attraction of believing in something just for the sake of believing.
By the way, I wrote a new piece on abortion. As you saw, I discussed this for a bit in my "Ten Questions" essay but decided it needed some elaboration: https://medium.com/@lyonsnyc/the-religious-objection-to-abortion-makes-no-sense-dc568faab5fd
