Thanks for your response, Eric. Yeah, what you point out is just the beginning (heh) of the problem: multiple translations, multiple versions. But “In the beginning” does seem to be commonly accepted and so I just went with that.

Also, the King James Version is generally regarded by many as a beautiful translation. Even Richard Dawkins agrees!
