As I said in my piece, nobody knows if the Big Bang was the beginning of the universe or a “change of state” from something else (a discussion about the alleged multiverse is above my pay grade). What I’m saying, broadly, is that everything we understand about the nature of the world and the universe is rooted in natural causes. No theist or theologian anywhere in the history of the world has been able to show or demonstrate a super-natural cause (“God”) or chain of events for anything. There is no reason (key word) to believe that the cause of the Big Bang is (or would be) exempt from this sterling track record (of humanity realizing or figuring out that anything and everything we currently understand has a natural cause).
